看过当年奥斯卡颁奖典礼直播的同学都知道，当主持人一次又一次地念出“The Return of the King by Peter Jackson”，全场的掌声也是一次比一次热烈。彼得·杰克逊这位自称受到《星球大战：帝国反击战》（或者说乔治·卢卡斯）启蒙的导演，也由此获得了“彼得大帝”的称号。

The Rohan Guy: No pauses, no spills.
Gimli: And no regurgitation.
Legolas: So, it’s a drinking game.
Gimli: Last one standing wins. Heh, heh, heh.
Crowd: (Hurray?) for victory!
Eowen(?): (In Quenya, wishes Aragorn good health)
Theoden: I am happy for you. He is an honorable man.
Eowen: You are both honorable men.
Theoden: It was not Theoden of Rohan who led our people to victory. Ah, don’t listen to me. You are young. Tonight is for you.
Gimli: Again!
Gimli: It’s a dwarf that goes swimming with little hairy women!
Legolas: I feel something. A slight tingling in my fingers. I think it’s affecting me.
Gimli: What did I say? He can’t hold his liquor!
Legolas: Game over.
Merry and Pippin: sing
Merry (or Pippin?): Thank you, I win!
Aragorn: No news of Frodo?
Gandalf: No word. Nothing.
Aragorn: We have time. Everyday Frodo moves closer to Mordor.
Gandalf: Do we know that?
Aragorn: What does your heart tell you?
Gandalf: That Frodo is alive. Yes. Yes, he’s still alive.
